PROJECT 04 // INVERARITY MORTON

PROJECT 04 // INVERARITY MORTON

Since 1945 Inverarity Morton have been helping progress the whisky scene in Scotland.

By giving customers right across the country ever increasing options when it comes to Whisky, they’ve made it possible for licensees to carry more diverse and interesting ranges, helping fuel local interest in the national spirit.

Inverarirty Morton is built on a foundation of understanding what the trade want and then exceeding expectations in delivering it. As ex bartenders who fell in love whisky whilst working within Edinburgh’s bar scene, their mission spoke to us. So when offered the chance to collaborate on a unique blended whisky with them, we leaped at it.

The brief for an exclusive blend for Inverarity Morton customers called for a liquid that would surprise and delight upon tasting. We explored diverse flavours and regions that would stand up in all kinds of drinks, whilst also drinking superbly neat. A truly versatile, contemporary Scottish blend.

The result is a malt heavy blend, with rich texture and pleasingly long finish. We gave this blend an extended finishing period in a xxxx cask, the extra layer this imbues providing a final flourish as a nod to the ‘extra mile’ mindset proudly exhibited by this family business.

BEHIND THE BLEND

BEHIND THE BLEND

The components of this blend are diverse and from right across Scotland, with three ‘Glens’, an ‘Inver’ and a ‘Strath’ shaping the roster.

We sought exciting, unusual flavours from the hidden gems like Glenglassaugh and Glenrothes, whilst also pulling some Strathclyde Grain as a nod to IM’s home territory. With a brief asking for a liquid that would surprise and delight, we pulled a cask from a powerhouse distillery that few will have tasted; Glentauchers. This element gave a lovely pastry, honied body to the dram, stopping short of overpowering the other components.

The result is a richly textured and complex dram, ideal for sipping or for highballs as the mood dictates.

There are 470 Bottles, exclusively available through Inverarity Morton whilst stocks last.
