Inspired by the new wave of wine producers successfully re-energising the possibilities of ubiquitous, maligned varietals – Experience N.7
was designed around a cask of Speyside malt that was ‘so packed with fresh,
fruit flavours that it was almost crisp’.
Whilst most of these notes would normally be blended away, or used to enliven dull blends, we sought to focus on and elevate them.
Selecting a handful of other whiskies that rounded and complimented this juicy brightness (we won't lie - there's a few ex wine casks in the mix) led us to think about how this whisky might fit non-traditional whisky drinking occasions. It doesn’t smell like a whisky, it almost doesn’t taste like a whisky. Why is that such a problem?
We started playing around with HOW to enjoy this whisky and arrived at a serve of equal measures whisky and really cold, still water – in a delicate white wine glass. You’re still drinking whisky, but the effect of suspending your disbelief that it’s not wine is.
This is a whisky for those casual, easy going relaxed moments, the first drink after
work – or as a pre-dinner aperitif.
We advise pouring equal measures of Experience N.7 and ice cold mineral water into a fancy white wine glass – and seeing what people make of it.
