Capturing a sense of place through flavour might sound like alchemy. But when that place is described with such poetry, whisky becomes the perfect medium. At least for Woven’s co-founder and whisky maker, Pete Allison.
Welcoming KESTIN to our Biscuit Factory studio was a dream for us. As a young brand trying to bridge traditional craft with a modern maker’s mindset, KESTIN has always been an inspiration. They’ve shown how seamlessly you can occupy both worlds, and it felt natural to finally bring whisky into that conversation.
We’d crossed paths before, but spending a full day together, really digging into whisky, was a rare treat. Through tastings and shared stories, we set out to translate memory and landscape into flavour. Kestin spoke of Skye — a place he returns to for grounding and inspiration. Wild coastlines. Moorland. Salt on skin. Woodsmoke drifting in the air.
As we nosed through samples, those memories gave us a starting point. We chatted like friends planning a road trip, exploring possibilities and ideas on the fly. We built a backbone of coastal brightness, woodland pine, and earthy smoke, then added sea foam, charred orchard fruits, and just a touch of peat — not only for flavour, but for the emotions they carried.
The result is a blend that unfolds slowly on the palate. Welcoming, but with depth. Like the best memories, it lingers, revealing new details as you sit with it. An escape from the everyday, and a small invitation to Skye time.
Welcome to Loch Bay.
Only 100 bottles were created, with just 50 available to purchase - a rare chance to share in this story of place and flavour.
