Hidden in Glasgow’s Merchant City, The Absent Ear is a multi-award-winning speakeasy inspired by Amsterdam and the genius and mystery of Vincent Van Gogh. Mysterious, enigmatic, and brimming with creativity, it offers an immersive cocktail experience where art and mixology collide.

Led by Liam Grogan, SLTN’s Mixologist of the Year 2022, the bar is known for its bold, experimental serves and a menu that pairs each cocktail with bespoke artwork.

Liam’s A-MAZE-BALL is exactly that - a bright, beguiling highball with layers of flavour and play. This serve invites you to sip and solve, arriving with a fun mini maze and pen.

Built on the smoky richness of Woven HEMISPHERES this serve rewrites the rules of what a highball can be... Savoury. Still. Surprising. Swaying between the umami depth of shiitake pandan syrup and the lifted freshness of coconut water, balanced beautifully by the delicate tang of ume sake and white verjus.

To create, stir in a mixing tin and serve over nice ice in a tall, thin glass. Happy highballing!
